That’s the way of life. Stains are inevitable. If you have kids and pets, the more your carpet will suffer. The key point when it comes to cleaning carpet stain is to act quickly.

Do not rub the stain or apply water, think of the following cleaning solutions when your carpet suffers from stains. These tips come from carpet cleaners Riverside CA, so you can trust that it really works.

1. Beer

You might not think of this as a cleaning solution, but a stain is more likely. But do you know that pouring a bit of beer in top of the tea of coffee stain will life the dirt up? Yes, you’ve read that right. All you have to do is rub the beer lightly in the carpet or rug, and the stain will disappear. If you’re dealing with a stubborn stain, just repeat the procedure for a couple of times.

2. Vinegar

Vinegar is always to the rescue. We can say that vinegar is the superhero of the stain removal solutions. If you have light stains, just mix 1.2 cup of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of salt. Apply the solution, let dry and vacuum. If you are dealing with large stains, just add 2 tablespoons of borax to the mixture. If the stain is already dry and set in, just mix 1 ½ tablespoon of cornstarch, 1 tablespoon of vinegar and rub to the stain. Vacuum the stain after two days.

3. Ammonia

If you have small or even big stains on your carpet, you can remove them by sponging a solution of 2 liters warm water and 1 cup clear ammonia. Repeat the procedure if the stain is stubborn.

4. Shaving Cream

If you have kids around, it’s more likely that spilled juices are all over the carpet. The answer to this dilemma is shaving cream. Once you see spills, act right away. First, blot the stain to reduce the liquid. Next, pat the stain with a wet sponge and then squirt some shaving cream. Once it’s done, wipe the stain with a damp sponge. If you also have oil and grease stains, the shaving cream will also work.

5. Borax

If you’re looking for another alternative, you can also borax. Dampen the stained area and rub some Borax on it. Once you’re done with that, let the area to be dry then vacuum it after. If the stain is still there, you can blot with a solution of soapy water and vinegar. Let it dry and do the vacuuming.

6. Baking Soda

Another miracle of homemade carpet cleaning is baking soda. If you have vomit or urine stains, this will do the trick. Wipe up the stain, pour some baking soda and pat with a clean paper towel. Vacuum the residue once it’s dry. The baking soda is effective when it comes to cleaning, sanitizing and deodorizing stains.
